TAXI
Taxies!! My concept is "The day of taxi drivers in Kamata". Basically what I was trying to do is to record taxi drivers behavior in different time of the day at 7am, 3pm, 6pm, and 00am. Waiting in line in a "Taxi Loop" is the unique culture for taxi drivers in Japan and since Japan has most convenient train/subway network in the world, there is not much business during the day. However, when it reaches midnight after trains stop, it is the peak hour for taxi business. I hope my picture does tell the story in the right way!! The second set of pictures is put together because I like the uniformity of the series and it looks like a commercial of some sort to me. A lot of people seems to like the second set better for its manipulated look; however, it seems to me that the upper one tells more story and makes viewers think deeper.

Reality
What do you think of this cat when you look at this picture?
Cats often have this look in their eyes, so deep and mysterious.
From this shot, I would say he is a leader, sharp and cautious.
I have always remembered and loved this cat and the picture,
but never thought about the hidden truth underlying in this photograph.
Is everything like how it seems to be?
People escape from the reality and believe in what they want to believe,
but when they realize the truth again, it's like double the pain.
this is how he really look like
he walks slow and looks scared
i wonder what happen to him before

Revenge
The girl on mission makes me think of the kids
in the third world countries trained to be soldiers;
however, this is Japan and the shot was just a coincidence.
